Our cutting board size is a 10 X 14 rectangle with rounded corners. The board is made of Appalachian Maple (maple is touted as one of the safest anti-bacterial food cutting surface available -including plastic). Each board comes with a label indicating the species of wood used for the inlays plus care and preservation recommendations. One side features a design that is inlaid with various species of wood (including South American Purple Heart, African Lacewood and Wenge, and Brazilian Cherry to name a few) and the other side remains unadorned. Although the inlaid side is perfectly safe for food contact, the plain side is generally used for cutting and then flipped over to display the inlaid side on the countertop.
